As a local indie-rock band from Boone, NC, Galloway was tasked with finding ways to stick out and differentiate in an uber-competitive marketplace. As a band, we were seeking to communicate a homemade yet sleek design, balancing an authentic feel with a professional presentation. The band was also inspired by a vintage aesthetic and had previously adopted this in branding for past release cycles.
To begin, I started bringing disposable cameras to our rehearsals and shows, seeking to capture authentic moments. I then selected photos, edited them, and created a campaign of designs that communicated the very retro and “human” quality we were looking for, and set them to snippets of the five songs on our EP. These clips were then uploaded to our social platforms as “teases” leading up to our release dates (9/27 and 9/28).
